I HATE knitting with black yarn

I'm knitting a Torchwood scarf, black background with a red pattern. In more hours of knitting than I care to remember, I've finished maybe six inches of work and am currently unraveling a ridiculous amount of it in search of a mistake I haven't been able to find for almost three hours. It's going to take me ages to finish, but at least things are going better with the white yarn!

It was awful. I decided the best thing was just to start over with the white yarn, and that's been easier to work with so far.

Dark yarn is so tricky; I've had similar problems with dark blue and purple before. It sucks that you had to frog everything, but hopefully the white and red scarf will be much less frustrating.

This is the first time I've tried knitting with dark yarn to such an extent. Part of the problem is that I was double-knitting with black and red, putting a different design on the two sides of the scarf, so it was easy to screw up my stitch count and put the wrong color somewhere. I can see what I'm doing much better with the white yarn, thankfully.
