I never get caught up in RL! So happy you're loving where this is going. This fic is turning into a monster. I might need a bigger boat. If I can, Ch 11 will be up in a day or so.

Thx for the sympathy, feeling better now:)

I have been catching up on the back story every since I stumbled upon and fell in love with your latest chapter. After each piece, I felt an urge to comment, but so much of what I wanted to say had already been said.

This chapter, though was just so bittersweet. So tender in places that it physically hurt to read it. Mycroft's and John's confessions brought tears to my eyes.

And I am loving this Irene that pays her debts. Who puts her desires aside and instead puts her experience to good use. And this:
Sherlock was rolling his eyes at Irene’s obvious stupidity in imagining he could not do this, like he did everything else, with lightning rapidity, sheer force of will, flawlessly.

I am not ready to get to the end! And have to wait like everyone else has been waiting for each chapter to appear in turn!

Oh, it makes me so happy for you to go back and think about the chapters that came before. Every chapter, when I write it, is my favourite<3 Please go ahead and give in to that urge to comment, because as much fic as I have written I find that it is the support of Sherlock fans that makes me want to keep going and do my best for the characters and for my readers.

Yes, this was a terribly hard and sad chapter in many ways. Even in its own way for Irene, who wants more, but she is rather practical and will try not to torture herself the way she loves to torture others. It took me a long time after first seeing ASiB to come to appreciate Irene and I expect she still has a very important role to play in this fic before the end.

Don't worry about getting to the end. There is quite a long way to go in this fic so I hope to see you along the way. Your thoughtful and kind comments mean a lot.

Best,
G x

”Now, he almost never visited that place. There was another place, a different region: smaller, simpler. But safe. That was where what he had left of John was. He held the feeling of John, the memory of John, close. It had to be enough.”

Even though most of this chapter was mostly John’s point-of-view, the pieces from Sherlock’s point-of-view were also filled with John.

Even though I anticipated it coming, this ~

“John,” he said, his deep velvet voice choked with emotion. had me choked with emotion, too. Beautiful.

It is hard, very hard, to pity Sherlock after what he did to John, no matter his reasons. I had to really reach down deep to find a way to show that Sherlock suffers too, as much as John perhaps, even more. So painful, but so beautiful to imagine that they may yet find their way back to each other.<3
