Something I've read which made sense to me is that humans are supposed to eat a little (amount) of a lot (variety). And our modern diets have maybe merely hundreds of different foods in them, rather than thousands. So we end up eating the same things over and over, in effect eating a lot of a little.

Which may be just my excuse for my policy of trying new/strange/different things. :)

Interesting... that might actually explain some of the issues we've been having. And a great excuse to experiment!

It's not like our ancestors didn't eat wild grains when they found them. The main difference is that we've gone through 19,000 or so years of domesticating them. We probably concentrate too much on highly processed grains, but I son't think they can be considered alien t our diet.

On the other hand, I can't really criticize any diet that emphasizes eating more fruits and vegetables.
