Hey if you have any questions about Catholicism, let me know! I don't practice very much but I can answer some basic ones. I actually went to a Protestant church for awhile and became a member, so I can explain a few confusing things for you.
For example, you may have noticed the Our Father prayer is longer (or shorter?) than ours. Each church was, of course, different, so when I went I had to make myself stop or go on with it depending! lol.
It's not so much confusing as I don't understand the reasoning behind certain things, like praying to the saints/having priests say mass for you/intercession/confession/things like that. Maybe because I was raised in the Methodist church, but I just don't get why people feel the need to pray to dead people who did awesome (more in the full-of-awe sense than the AWESOME DUDE sense) things in their lifetimes so that they can have divine favors performed for them. If you're going to get it, you will, and wearing a medal with someone's portrait on it won't necessarily help you get it any quicker.
I understand it on some levels, because certain pagan practices tie in well with Catholic practices and I did study certain bits of paganism for about 2 years. It's more the reasoning behind certain Catholic practices that are more related to Church politics and dogmatic traditions rather than actual faith and beliefs.
Yeah, word on the street is that nuns don't do the habit thing anymore. Also, remember in all situations kreepy very little beats a knee to the groin. Just saying :)
Something tells me I should make a joke about getting out of the habit, but then something else tells me that that is a terrible idea.
If I weren't waiting for someone to pick my up from that streetcorner, and he was actually all up on me and more creepy than drunkenly annoying, there would have been some knee-groin meeting that would not have been pleasant for everyone involved. (:
