I really quite like those quotes, especially the similies (not sure that is the right word and LJ has given it red squiggles underneath so that, even if it is the right word, it has the wrong spelling.)
I enjoyed your Troll Story. So maybe that means I'd like Raymond Chandler too. I have read one of his books but it was so long ago that I can't remember which one it was. I don't really read that many pure detective stories.
Raymond Chandler was very popular in his day but of all the authors that my dad read, Wilbur Smith was the only one that I went back for more of... hmm, now I'm wondering whether or not to try to look for some Chandler to read...
I'm not familiar with David Foster Wallace, but I read the Wikipedia article on him just now and he sounds intriguing -- especially from what it says in the "themes and styles" section. Now I want to read some of his work. If nothing else, these "who do I write like?" quizzes inspire me to read more!
