old timey icons

Tonight I ended up looking through my really old icon posts I made on LJ. I started making icons in 2010. Actually I started making icons (for Queer as Folk) on insanejournal on an account that is deleted now. It was interesting and entertaining though, looking back through my really old icon posts. Nice to know I've always been loving and iconning

Why does 2010 feel like a long time ago but 2000 feel like yesterday?

I have no idea. They both feel both forever ago and like they were last year to me.

omg, I remember farscapelims. it was so long ago. I was so shocked and upset when my favorites were voted out earlier than me, but I think I'd take a lims much less seriously these days and have more fun :D I don't think there are enough fs iconers around anymore... but thanks for running those two rounds back then, it was definitely an interesting thing to be a part of and the only LIMS I've ever participated in!

Haha sorry it caused you so much unhappiness with the results. The more I think about it, a lims is not a great format for a lot of iconning challenges. Maybe just a random Farscape challenge? But again you're probably right, there's not that many people that would actually icon Farscape at this point, it's such an old fandom (says the old, old lady).

hey btw, I noticed we're both gonna be in the next turbo_rumble round, which is awesome!! Good luck for the round, I hope you'll have fun. But since participants get points for promoting ther comm or the round, I was wondering if you want to do it at froonium_icons? I'll let you make that post if you want to, but if you don't want to for some reason let me know and I'll do it :>

I think I participated in farscapelims a couple times! I've been low-key missing making icons for awhile now (in that I think about it but don't actually rouse myself to make any), so that would definitely be fun.

I think I did a post on my LJ a while back with some of my really old, early icons, and how terrible they were. It was pretty fun.

It's always a bit amusing to see the really old icons one's made and how they've changed, even if it's only a little bit.

I'm looking forward to seeing you get back into icon making now that you're over at theiconthrone
