It still boggles my mind sometimes at how much Sherlock fanfic there is. I feel like I've read a ton, and yet there's still new ones being posted and I keep discovering old ones I haven't read yet! And this is all only in the John/Sherlock slash category. I really haven't read anything else other than a few gen fics in this fandom ( Read more... )

I miss being really super into fanfic like that. I just haven't had a fandom in quite a while where I felt the need/desire to read read read. I ended up writing Babylon 5 John/Delenn because there just isn't that much out there (or, I should say, there's some out there but most of it isn't very good at all). It's really been since Buffy/Spike, so, like, ten years ago, that I've really been into fanfic.

Which actually kinda makes me sad! Because I love fic! Ah well. I'd read some Sherlock fic, though, if you have a community or a specific fic or two to rec. I think one of the reasons I don't read much anymore is that it's hard to find what you're looking for. There are so many places out there, and I usually can't be bothered to hunt, LOL.

Yeah I only get into fanfic for specific ships/fandoms. And other fandoms, even though I love them I never seem to get into the fic for them.
It is really hard to find good fic. That's why I don't bother for a lot of it too; either there really isn't that much at all (Babylon 5) or there's so much that it's almost ridiculous to find the good stuff (Harry Potter).

But *ahem* I think you requested some Sherlock recs? Oh I can definitely do that. I don't know how interested you are really so I'll try to control myself, even though you only asked for one or two recs :D (THESE ARE ALL SHIPPY IN CASE YOU DIDNT GET THAT BY THIS POINT!)

The Shape I Found In You - John and Sherlock communicating via text/email because Sherlock is overseas for a case. Second part is here. It gets angsty and porny and it's rather long overall too. But I love it.

A Very Cold Case - This is more preslash, and has Sherlock and John traveling to Moscow due to a mysterious letter Sherlock receives. For some reason I really love this fic. Also rather long.
