Windows Phone 7

I finally have a fully operational Windows Phone, following its arrival on Friday. The delay is not the fault of the phone, I hasten to say, it's due to unfortunate timing and mistakes made by the provider. I won't dwell on those.

Congrats on your new phone. Welcome to the modern world!

Looking forward to seeing a Windows phone in operation. Will you be at Andrew's firework party on Friday?

Ah well, it is work's phone, which I only have for the purposes of development; so not that committed to the modern world as yet. Once I no longer need it for that, it may be reassigned to someone else who actually needs a phone during their working day, as was the Windows Mobile phone a couple of years ago.

Yes, I should be there and you'll have a chance to see it.

it has 8GB and with the Zune s/w which I rate you should be able to carry a lot of music because though mine is in WMA format the WP7 supports AAC and a lot more options

There is a Spotify client on the way, which would go a long way to giving you a pocketful of music!

good point, explore the options there's lots to chose from for having music, my choice the Dell Venue Pro only has 8GB too (I say only in comparison to my 32GB Zune HD) but at least there's the rumored capabilability of a microSDHC to add more

There's a Last.fm one already.

I'm curious what do you think of the Zune s/w?

I've not really given it a fair trial, so difficult to say. Since I'm using work machines there's not a huge amount of media on them to play with, so I've done some basic synching and that's it. It seems reasonably nice as far as it goes, but I haven't pushed it.

Is it just me, or is that map showing Glasgow on the east coast? ;)

Glasgow has a wee dot on the west coast, if you look closely. The BIG DOT on the east denotes my presence - as is only right and proper. ;-)
