The house is packed up, ready to go into storage for the summer. Tomorrow I return my work laptop and turn off the DSL. Saturday morning I head out.
The plan: We drive north for 2 days, to Hay River on the Great Slave Lake. There the truck is put on a barge, and we pay an outfitter to drive us to mouth of the river at Fort Providence. We then spend 5 weeks canoeing north to Inuvik, 1700 kilometers away. Hopefully the truck is waiting for us when we get there. After getting out to see a pingo somehow, we drive back to Seattle, arriving no later than August 5. See
this map for an overview of the route.
vixyish might be posting updates as she gets them, but don't expect to hear much from me until early August.
