Christ, I've gotta get up to work tomorrow morning at 06.00, and I just CAN'T seem to glue my eyes away from the screen and your WONDERFUL beginning of a story. SERIOUSLY, one paragraph in and I'm Sold. Big Time!

This is a fantastic start to what promises to be a gripping story. The rich detail have painted one vivid scene after another and watching Merlin lose Arthur for the fifth time was heart breaking. What a trial to do this over and over and over again, never losing the memories. There are good memories, too, though, and the anticipation of meeting Arthur again must fuel Merlin's days.
It was wonderful to meet a much younger Gaius and the way the sorcerer set the path for his own arrival in Camelot. The description of Merlin giving himself over to the magic in order to be reborn was breathtaking and I love that you gave me a picture of a happy Hunith and Balinor in the moments before conceiving Merlin.
