boohoo! but a good boohoo! the last lines are haunting and sad, and so was: "the echo of being wanted, even for an hour in a deserted storage room" especially. I like the use of parenthesis. and Laura's absence is so present throughout.

I'm glad the loss of Laura is felt, even though I don't mention her that often. perhaps felt too much! it sounds like it's even sadder than I meant it to be. Tory's tough -- she'll be fine! (and I hope it was hottt nonetheless.)

I have an obsession with constructing these femslashy backstories for the gaps in the onscreen relationships between women (basically the show makes so much sense if you just assume that *everyone* is in love with Laura, heh). I don't love the interpretation of Laura where she categorically refuses to have sex while she's President, but it's certainly an orthodox interpretation and I decided to experiment with it here. hey, I even threw in an oblique reference to Adama/Roslin UST because I can see how well it works in this scenario :P. Tory's not safe by any definition of the word -- I mean, I wouldn't want to write her as the safe choice (even if that false sense of safety is how this all got started).

(and pssssst, it's going to have a happy, or at least happier, ending, if I have anything to do with it. they just both have some growing pains to get through.)
