My thanks; it is a minor skill, easy enough to master.

Hey there, Huo! I'm Krile.

There are a lot of useful things to do in Edensphere... taking a look at some of the jobs might help to figure out what feels "right" for you to do.

Thank you, Krile; your advice is highly appreciated. Is it common then to have a sense of one's calling, despite the loss of all memory?

Sometimes it is. It's kind of a gut feeling--I knew I wanted to do something to protect people, for instance. You'll probably find something that feels right to you too.

How interesting; goals and desires subsist beyond the loss of self. That is comforting to know.

Why do you think of yourself that way?

Humility is a great virtue, paired with courtesy; and besides, I cannot boast of skills that I do not yet know myself to possess.

[ooc: Oh no, not at all! I meant that 00 doesn't get that he's just being courteous by Ancient Chinese standards. She thinks he's expressing genuine low self-esteem l-lol. Sorry for the confusion ^^; ]

Lack of memory does not mean you are worthless.

[OOC: Oh, whew... sorry, I'm kind of paranoid about the culture thing XD.]

Nor does it mean the opposite; merely that there is much to rediscover and prove.

I don't know half of what you said dude, but I can read your name! You can call me Smoke. I uh... don't know how to write it, though.

Welcome to Edensphere!

Thank you for the welcome, Smoke.

I believe the character you refer to is 煙, yān. That is interesting; it incorporates the character for my own name. I wonder what, if anything, that might portend.

... Huh. How about that. Makes sense when you think about it - Fire and Smoke and all that.

People write words in these journals all the time that I don't understand, so maybe we know more similar words than just our names?

... Looks like a couple of us can read your name. Funny, I never noticed it before.

It is appropriate, in a world that makes little sense, that smoke should come before fire and not vice-versa.

It is possible; if we have any connection, we ought to pursue it. With our minds thus scrubbed flat, I shall welcome any foothold.

That is not a way to look at yourself, Huo! There is much to do and you can chose what you want to do on your own!

You are much too kind, but I thank you nonetheless. I shall apply myself where I may, and hope for fortuitous results.

Everyone is able to do something. The difference between those that achieve and those that do not is hard work! And enthusiasm!

Certainly, nothing can be achieved without hard work. And yet, it is proper that we do our best even at such tasks that cause us no excitement.
