frozen lakes/ponds are scary

So lately I've been seeing a whole lot of dogs falling into icy waters on the news. Today I was bringing wood in from the wood pile and my dog Mandy comes home. This is normal except that my dog Lucy was not with her. I waited a few minutes to see if she was just lagging behind because she's an old arthritic lab and doesn't move that fast anymore,
