meow_tan repeatedly posting links to her scary 80s makeup oversized dress photos does not help matters. Plus if you make a post fannying around what you actually want and then get arsey saying 'i just wanted photos! no opinions, baawwwww' then you are going to look stupid.

if you just want photos, ( Read more... )

it's because i don't have brand, needs less makeup, name: kokoro, check the memories, name: tarasockss, bawwww, do it for me

IMO kororo is looking for reasons NOT to buy brand. I mean FFS. *beats head against a wall until it's nothing but a bloodied mess*

i did get that impression. Especially towards the point where she was saying 'i cant buy it cos the description is in japanese!!!'.

How backward can you possibly be? Lolita is a japanese fashion...at some point she really should have figured out that a translator might be helpful...

Now she's saying that the translator sucks. I just, give up. Seriously.

Although I do lol at how she says 'I'm not going to order something when I can't understand the description.' But she will order from F+F when she has a feeling that the items are poor quality and won't match the images on the website? facepalm.jpg

if people would rather waste smaller sums of money than spend slighter larger amounts of money on something worth it, then i guess its their call. Just dont give help to people who dont want it i guess.

MAM OP from egl_comm_sales = $68 USD
SO expensive....
I wish this whole brand vs. offbrand crap would end. Everybody needs to learn how to shop anyways. Sometimes I want to take them through my Goodwill boot camp. If you can learn how to spot a bargain there, you can learn to spot one on anywhere.

I'm sure you were joking, but a bootcamp would be cool xD Because when it comes to offbrand shopping, I rarely know when to start. You should write a guide or something xD

As for the offbrand/brand ordeal...well...it's sometimes kinda pointless.

....I did. It's in the memories for the thrifty_lolita community.
But I think an hour with 10 dollars and an agenda in Goodwill could definitely help some people out. I went in six minutes before closing with "find black mary janes and granny boots" in my head and ended up finded two high-quality pairs of shoes for under 7 dollars. And the mary jane pumps happened to BE brand--Franco Sarto. They actually retail for 89-168 USD.

"I was hoping to see pictures of items purchased from F F that are higher quality. The pictures provided by F F are all pretty nice, and soooo many things look totally different in real life. So something that looks okay online can turn out to be a lace nightmare in reality. XD"

That sounds all fair enough to me. I actually wanted to scream when the conversation turned into "don't buy it, it's bad, brand isn't all that expensive." People still _wear_ F+F, and wanting to hear and see just what the look and quality of individual items is like (for example, if the quality varies from one item to another, or if items could be easily modified to look nicer/if there are more serious problems such as the fabrics, etc...) doesn't strike me as such an odd request.

I did too, jesus christ. We get posts on EGL every week asking for pictures of people in this or that baby/ap/meta dress, yet one (with valid explaination as to why she's getting off brand instead) for f+f freaks everyone the fuck out. I mean, she knows that F+F can be iffy and is specifically asking for pictures of the higher quality items - something I don't see any harm in doing at ALL.

Besides, brand IS expensive, especially the nicer peices and prints. I wouldn't buy a peice just because it's cheap and brand, you have to like it as well. >> And all the malarky about "use auction services" is silly as well. After all the negative reviews I've seen in the last few months makes me nervous enough not to use them. When I'm buying I want to know exactly what I'm getting, and I want to be able to communicate with the seller.
