rec and discussion communities on LJ

I notice a lot of postings for recommendations for fics.

Are there active recommendation and discussion communities here on LJ.

I know that several of the active communities moved to IJ a while back, but has anything grown to take their place here?

qaf_faves just started up again.

whatsup_qaf accepts all kinds of discussion. I think for recommendations there's memories and tags at getithere and the links in its sidebar.

Also: get_it_there is a free-for-all fic recommendation community. It's pretty much inactive these days, but it's there.

Right, we do have the found recs/seeking recs tag but we don't have a place in this comm to post "zomg, you guys! I just read the best fic!" That's why seanmegansean started get_it_there, though you're right; it's mostly in hibernation these days.

qaf_retread is a rec comm. It started here on LJ but moved to IJ where, among other things, there's not a need to have everyone have their birthdates listed and the mods don't have to keep watch on that.

A rec was just posted this evening. The comm is directly linked in the Sidebar in the fic comm section and there's also a link to add the feed to your LJ flist. There's not a nightly rec anymore, but a few times a week.

No discussion of fics that I'm really aware of.
