...so, I started watching the first season of "Deadwood" recently, and I was wondering if there were any Qaf stories set in the Old West.

I think I started reading one once, but it wasn't too interesting. Does anyone know of any good ones. (Please, no crossovers though.) Thanks a lot.

I went on a crazy tear looking for cowboy!Brian after watching Gale on Deadwood. This is what I found:

2) There is also one, pure crack, in which Justin is a mail order bride. I never read it, but it's definitely made the rounds.

3) Finally, there is Wayfarers by Gaedhal. I don't think it was ever completed.

I've heard that Gale Harold was on "Deadwood" at some point, but I'm only halfway through season one, so I haven't seen him yet. Can't wait though.

You have a while to go before you see Gale. He was in the final season in the episodes Amateur Night and Leviathan Smiles as Wyatt Earp.
I miss that show, sometimes. Enjoy!

You're in luck! I know of two fics that were written for the qaf_challenges Challenge in Two Parts hosted on IJ last spring.

Here's a link to all the fics (in case you missed them, which you don't want to do).

Then, scroll down to Gorgeous Graphic #20 and you'll find Another Time, Another Place, by chering and fansee and Garland, and All Points East, by flashfly.

Just thought you should know the garland by flashfly is justin/emmett it does have brian in it too but just thought you should know incase justin/emmett isnt your thing

I've read Justin/Emmett before; I don't mind if it's just a small part of the story, but I'd much rather have Brian and Justin end up together. Thanks for the warning.

I know you said no crossovers, but I never even heard of Mag 7 so it was all new to me. This is from cowboystracker(sorry, I don't have a link). I think it's a great B/J cowboy fic.
