All I remember is that Michael steals money from Justin in relation with the comics they produce together. Maybe by lying about the costs or the profits.
Brian confronts Michael about it at some point.

I think the difference in some of these stories, is that in Wren's, it was such a paltry amount, like $4,000. I could never figure out why such a big deal was made out of it. Because a simple loan, and the fact Ben was a teacher at a college, it could have been easily paid back. But when you start getting over $100,000, THAT'S LOTS!!!

But, it boils down to severed friendships.
