A series I think mostly fulfills your requirements, although B/J split their time between NYC and Britin, is paeansong's 'Talisman of Time.' There's a bit of what might be considered character bashing of Michael and Lindsay, but it isn't severe and is consistent with canon. One warning - the series isn't complete, but is long and still a very satisfying read.

Wow thank you! I've only read (and loved) Variation on a lover's morning (while I'm here I recommend all of Emynn's works).
So I'm off to read the others!

Late to the party, but I can't believe no one's rec'd the amazing Yellow Brick Road series by plumsuede. Fandom waited and devoured this series for the nearly ten years it took to finish. It was worth the wait. There are OCs in abundance, but they make sense to the story.

And it's looooooooooooooooooong.

Oh, I thought in this one Justin came back to Pittsburgh and they lived in the manor. If it's set in New York then I'll read it

Most of the action takes place in NYC. They do live in the manor, but very little takes place there. And it spans like seven years. Trust me, it's worth the read.
