HOLY SHIT I JUST STAYED UP TILL ALMOST 5 IN THE FUCKING MORNING READING THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE REC IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE THAT IS ABSOLUTELY IN MY TOP 3 FAVORITE QAF FICS I CRIED LIKE SEVEN TIMES WHILE READING IT
Oh man that was so good. Can't wait to check out your other recs too! THANK YOU
In "But I Won't Do That" (21k words) by MoonShadow Woman (nochaser_12's comment above), J very heroically takes care of B and helps him survive. In both "Shadows In A Mirror" (44k) & "Broken Angel" (39k) by Moonshadow Woman, B pretty much gives up his whole way of life to help & care for J.
We have a "protective brian" tag. We don't have "protective justin," but we do have "justin supportive of brian," which really works out to be the same thing. Lots of Justin taking care of Brian, standing up for Brian, etc.
(And, re: nochaser's recs, The Things I Cannot Change is FANTASTIC and perfect for what you're looking for.)

The second one is a death fic but it is one of the most hopeful things I've written. And Justin still takes care of Brian. :)

In "Livin' On A Prayer" by lupin111, B/J both go to extremes in protective mode of the other, J literally takes a few punches as part of his scheme to protect B. AU, 55k words, http://www.midnightwhispers.ca/viewstory.php?sid=1558&warning=10.
