Copies of author Sandi fics.

May 11, 2014 12:32

I recently ran across the fic: Dartmouth Series by Sandi. I enjoyed the story immensely and would love to read more of her work. I was hoping someone had copies they could provide. I can’t find a trace of her fics anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
Sandra:)

Could you post the link to this story you mentioned? I can't find it :( Only found an alternative ending to it by Thyme.

I'm thinking that may be her only fic, only because the Moonshadow Tribe Lost Authors page has several author links leading to multiple fics, but then for Sandi (and Jasmine) just has a single fic link :( Hoping I'm wrong, though!

Whaddya know, I've been working my way back through tagging posts from 2009 for months, never heard of Sandi before, and right after you ask about her I find a June 2009 post asking about her! :)

Looks like she disappeared in 2003 and took her fics down.

On the bright side, after all this time, she finally has an author tag.

Yes, you're right. I didn't find her in the author tag. I found the story by looking for Dartmouth. It's nice that Sandi has a tag now, but I would love to read more of her stories. As you mentioned, it was indicated that she took all of her fics down. I would have felt better thinking that she had only written one fic.

There must be someone out there in the vast world of QAF fandom who has copies that they are willing to share with this poor soul. :(

I checked my computer and I have Sandi’s fics. As far as I know she only wrote the Dartmouth series, 3 short fics and the first chapter of the sequel to the Dartmouth Series called the Dartmouth Experience. I’ve Included everything I have in a zip file on sendspace. Hope my summaries are correct. It has been a long time since I've read these [and I only read them once] This is a direct link to the stories and includes:

https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/t7ners

Dartmouth 1-14
Dartmouth Experience 1 - abandoned

Four Seasons
Summary: sort of a post season 3 eventually unsuccessful reunion story. Primarily Justin/OMC I think all in Justin POV. The Four Seasons is in reference to a painting done by Justin showing the b/j relationship from beginning to end using seasonal references mixed in with Justin meeting someone new and falling in love with the OMC.

"Hey "Can’t remember where I got this one but it might have been from KrissyPigs yahoo group many ( ... )

Bless you, Blklizard. You are the fairy godmother to those of us looking for obscure lost QAF fics everywhere. What would we do without you? You are like that extra bonus you don't expect, but pray for. There are times when I almost look for you in the Getithere Important Comm Info. ;)

I cannot give you and this comm enough praise, so I'll stop here (I'll save some for sometime later).

Anywho, I'll off to read these fics, but with a little trepidation. I don't mind Justin/OMC once in a while, but it's looks like I just may overdose. Be careful what you wish for...? ;)

My many thanks again.

Sandra:)

UPDATE: I had nothing to fear. I should have known by how much I enjoyed Sandi's Dartmouth Series. Her stories should not be missed.

I love your stories, Sandi, where ever you are!

You're welcome. Glad I could help you out. *grin* I do have a lot of older fics but I have them because I’m lazy and a procrastinator who never gets around to cleaning off my hard drives. Who knew it would pay off for someone this many years later. LOL.

I'm glad you liked the stories. I didn't mean to make them sound like bad stories it’s just they are not the kind of story I like to read over and over again. Liking or not liking a story is so subjective depending on the reader. I was trying not to be biased with the summaries but they leave me feeling a little sad and kind of depressed. I actually had a lot more written but deleted it before I posted the link. I just don't tend to like those pesky OMC's getting in the way of b/j love [no matter how nice the writer makes them].... LOL… plus I've never been fond of Ethan... I didn’t find him attractive at all. I can’t seem to separate that when I read a fic with Ethan in it.

And I better shut up before I spoil too much of the story plot lines...

I've just read The Dartmouth Series. At last a normal father! It's the first and only story I've read with sane!Craig and not bastard!Craig as the usual case. I loved the way Brian and Craig (both businessmen at heart) deal with each other regarding Justin's best interest. It's a very refreshing and sane story with a lot of honest talk between characters and I would rec it as a very well written one.

YES!!! That's what I thought. Craig's character wasn't an 180 degree turn around but a realistic approach to the situation. I'm not a great lover of Craig, but I still remember Craig being the man that attacked Brian because he thought he was protecting his son.

The Dartmouth Series was a mature, intelligent alternative that I would love to see more of. I also thought that Justin's character made some very mature insightful decisions of which I love to read just as much as Justin down the well, LOL.

Let me know what you feel about the others.

I responded to blklizard's comment about the rest of the fics by personal journal, but I responded to yours here because I have a request to make which I will put in the appropriate separate post. ;)

Thanks for giving me the idea.

Oh, I just thought about. I didn't give you the link, did I? I'm so glad you played detective. Sorry.

Sandra:)

I read Four Seasons.
You asked to share my feelings, that's what I gladly do.

This story is intimate, sincere, with solid grip of emotional reality of relationship. Precise and concise.
Not at all Brian-centric. Brian is not justified in his life style and his expectation from Justin to adopt his ways of life. I really like the authors point of view on Justin's true heart desire. How he finds out that he is not what Brian expects from him.

In this story Justin falls in love again, and Brian is in the past. But this time Justin's in love with someone who could be truely right for him and it feels good to know it.

Honey, I could write forever on how much I love that story. IN MY OPINION, it is just as good, if not better than Myrna's The One Where Justin ( ... )
