Brian and Justin split for good.... Brian finds love with someone else

Following on from the request by sandraj60 … I was wondering if there are any stories out there where Justin and Brian break up for good, and BRIAN finds love and happiness with someone else? (since after 5 years with Justin he is a better man and certainly capable of it in my opinion)

Just finished this...great story, sad at times but uplifting too. I do think that perhaps Simon made Justin too much of a basket case, whiner, no matter how upset he was I don't think Justin would wallow as much as he did. But I still enjoyed it and was engrossed by it.

I've read this and it's wonderful. I loved it and it's sequel "Burn". I highly recommend both stories.

These are my favorite type of stories since I am a Brianite and always thought Justin was a necessary catalyst for Brian's emotional growth but NOT a soul mate or perfect partner. This is a very unpopular position so the fanfiction where Brian finds "true love" with someone other than Justin is limited. The ones I know of are listed below. All are well written and I think plausible. Some stray a little ooc but most keep Brian recognizable and none are really derogatory towards Justin (IMO they're pretty realistic to what we saw on the screen and not a romantized fantasy, but to each his own - that's why there's fanfiction

Sorry, but I read this response and had to laugh. I didn't know being a Brianite meant that Justin wasn't the love of his life. A few years ago, a Brianite was considered to be someone that thought Brian was perfect, could do no wrong. Which also cracks me up, because as much as I love Brian, I'd have killed him five minutes after the sex. Actually, I'd have had sex with him once, then been his drinking buddy, cause I naturally gravitate towards smartasses, being one myself.

I don't know that your disclaimer/qualifier was necessary for rec'ing fics, but it broaches an interesting discussion topic. :)

Sorry, I'm relatively new to the fandom and do not know all the implications of various terms. The disclaimer wasn't necessary for rec'ing fics just a explanation of my own interest/personal bias in the subject that has impacted my recommendations. Glad you got a laugh out of it

Of course everyone has their opinion and taste, and I saw so many dicussions between Brian's fans and Justin's fans all those year about who's wrong and who's right. Anyway, just some thoughts after your comment
