When Peter had left the hut that morning, mere moments after she had woken up, Mary Jane hadn't been particularly surprised. It wasn't the first time he'd done this, after all, waiting until she was no longer asleep to head out, and while it may not have usually been so rushed when he did, at least it made a certain amount of sense. Each knowing where the other stood on the subject of him helping Tony, they didn't spend a whole lot of time talking about it, but she was well aware that the hours Peter spent not sleeping or out of the house was devoted to research. This time around, she hadn't been provided with a destination, but she hadn't been overly preoccupied with it, anyway. He was fine, if probably running on very little rest, and she had enough to do until he returned, anyway, heading up to the Compound for food, then returning to straighten up the hut a little.
She was, if not relieved, then pleased all the same when she saw Peter walk through the door. "Hey, there you are," she said on an exhale, smiling instinctively at the sight of him. Standing up from where she had been sitting on the bed with a book, but not yet crossing to him, she looked him over briefly. "You look exhausted. Where've you been?" It wasn't like she didn't have a good idea, but it wasn't really one she wanted to have to think about until having it confirmed by him. There was no sense in assuming. Maybe he'd surprise her.
