No crafting again today, but I don't care. It's been gloriously warm and sunny, probably the last really good day we'll get this year, so I decided to tackle the patch of ground I cleared earlier this year, that got overgrown again. I ripped off the top growth again on two-thirds of the patch, the rest will have to stay as it is because there's honeysuckle flowering again, and other plants that will have to be moved, plus the unexpected cabbages which I don't want to disturb. I want to see what will happen with them.
I did pot up a tomato plant that has grown in the same patch, in the hope I might keep it alive long enough to produce a couple of tomatoes. It's very healthy and sturdy. Then I started digging, trying to get out some of the dock roots. The thickest ones I could only twist until they broke off, getting 6 to 8 inches of root. Some of the smaller ones pulled out with roots over a foot long. I only dug about half the patch I cleared, but I filled a bucket with huge roots. Tomorrow should still be warmish, but I think there
