So I’ve now been nudged by multiple people that it’s time to make a post, since it’s been some 30+ weeks since I last did. So lets see, what’s happened since then? I survived my first year of grad school, took an amazing trip to Europe with Sam, passed my prelim exam for my Ph.D, and am now midway through the fall semester. Well Chuck would say that band line-up sucked...but I think its awesome.

BTW...how the hell is Cal ranked ahead of The Vols in the BCS?

I've been trying to figure out how a few things work out in the BCS this year. Another thing I can't figure out is how USC is still tied for first in the computer polls... at least there's a few chances for them to get knocked off this year.

Well one of the computers have the Pac-10 as the strongest conference...which may help the rankings...also, the human polls love USC for whatever reason.
