Oo, good advice about the smoothies, I hadn't thought of that. Ditto about the Jaffa Cake deliberate distraction.
BTW, Tesco periodically do a good deal on the 39-packs of Jaffa Cakes. I can't remember if it's 2 for 1, or 2 for not much more than 1. I know I often buy them two at a time (and my email receipts won't tell me, as they just show the full prices of items, plus how much you saved in total over the whole shop; they don't show discounts on individual items.)
There's probably money to be made in creating a program that will penetrate through all this and find you the genuinely best deal, taking into account the price-match offers. I don't know if mySupermarket is that sophisticated yet.
