Not-so-comfortably Numb

Jul 02, 2005 17:59

So why was I so ignorant of Live8 before today? I blame all of you. For woe! Instead of attempting to watch TV (and I don't have cable and barely get the free stations), I was throwing my poor body against the beast that is our suburban yard. I fought the lawn and the lawn won ( Read more... )

Well that answers the question I posted to you last night. They were incredible and sang two of my favourites Wish you were here and Comfortably Numb. They didn't say much on stage, just got on with it but Roger Waters called Dave Gilmour back as he was leaving the there was a group 'hug' and wave. Sorry you missed it.

You are my source of good news. I wish I'd at least catch a photo or a clip or something. A group hug - now I know Harry and Draco are gonna get it on!

I'm sorry no one thought to tell you. I didn't know until my husband mentioned it at 10pm, I was still waiting for U2 to come on - shows how much attention I paid to it all because they were the first act.

And Yay for kissing in the Great Hall. It may be sappy but I love kissing in the Great Hall.

That's one dramatic formation.

I thought it was a weird mixture, the concert. At one point, Mariah Carey came on with a choir filled with African children, and, practically weeping, said "They're so brave! And they can sing!!" She didn't actually add, "And they're black!" but you could see she was thinking it, in between her diva-esque requests for a water bottle and a microphone stand.

Personally, I'm in love with Jake Shearer from Scissor Sisters, (who were storming) because he has the most fantastic eyes. Yes, I know, don't all write at once.

It's so odd how utterly blind I was to this happening. I mean, I know I don't ever watch TV so I didn't see commercials for it, but I do read the paper and check out online news services and stuff. Makes me wonder what else I miss entirely.

Whaddaya mean, there's a new pope?

See above advice about bitch-slapping people who RUB IT IN. You are so lucky you are out of reach, buster.

I want. I want to have not missed it, for one. Do you think it'll be on home video?

Hahaha! I just saw a picture of the crowd - all 200,000 of you! I didn't recognize you, though.
