I have for some reason started watching Buffy again lately. Hayes & I are watching it in order together - we just started Season 2 last night - but I've also been sort of randomly watching episodes from all the other seasons. I'm nursing the nastiest ear/sinus infection of my adult life (and that is saying something), so there's been more laying ( Read more... )

I can whole-heartedly agree that they should not have put Spike on AtS; they should have left him dead.

Amen. That really ruined my Spike love (although I was never a crazy Spike fan), which would have remained unsullied. The fifth season of Angel also ruined a lot of my love for that show, which still makes me sad when I think about it. I'll never not hate them going to work for W&H. Or them NOT CARING THAT CORDELIA WAS IN A COMA. Or the writers destroying her character long before that anyway.

Ahem. Clearly I still have issues. Heh.

HA! I found I enjoyed Season 5 of AtS better this way, too - but it was clearly weaker than what came before (and Spike just did not belong on this show, and they had no idea what to do with him AND it completely undermined his heroic death in "Chosen"). I never did find out what the rift was between AtS and Charisma Carpenter - do you know what happened there? Because clearly something happened there ( ... )

The rumor I heard -- from someone who knew Jeff Bell, one of the writers/producers on the show -- was that CC never told them she was pregnant. If asked, she'd deny it, and then she waited until she was absolutely, positively showing to announce it to them. Which, according to rumor, is why they scrambled to have Cordy get pregnant by Connor (to account for CC's real-life pregnancy), and also why they thrust her in a coma and wrote her character off.

I can't verify this as the truth, but that's what I've heard.
