This is a random, incomplete list of writing things that disagree with me in fanfiction. While I am writing strictly from the BeatlesSlash point of view, these same things more or less apply (for me) across the board, in any fandom or official publication. I am directing this at no one

I know I'm guilty of atleast one of these. The first one ^_^ I usually write the persons full name the first time they are mentioned. But I do try not to start off my fics with the persons full name. I try to come up with a good opening before I intro the characters.

It's just something I have done ever since I started writing.

Also, in some cases, using the full name is acceptable. Usually, however, it find it extremely jarring, especially in fanfiction where all the main characters should already be known by the readers. Of course, that's your writing prefference but it might be something you think about changing. :)
