Concussion Kisses -- Part 1 Concussion Kisses -- Part 2 PLEASE REVIEW!
Seattle
Long after night had fallen over the campsite and while everyone slept, one lone intern remained alert.
George sat hunched in the small tent, his gaze flitting between his watch and Alex. He hadn’t gotten any sleep. He’d tried, sure. But he just couldn’t drift off. Besides, it had been him who had volunteered to watch Alex.
That had been six hours ago. He’d had to wake Alex up each hour for the tests. They’d been slow and Alex was being stubborn, but that was just God’s revenge, right?
“Alex, wake up,” came the soft voice for the first of many tests.
“No thanks.”
“It’s me or I get the Chief.”
“I really hate you.”
“Whatever. Name?”
“Alex Karev.”
“Date?”
“Why, George…”
“Very funny. Alex-”
“October 2.”
“Place of birth?”
“A hospital.”
“Alex-”
“In a maternity ward.”
“Alex-”
“In a delivery room.”
“ALEX!”
“Iowa.”
“You weren’t this annoying with Shepherd.”
“He’s my boss’ boss. He can make my life hell.”
“And me?”
“You give it humor. A lot of humor.”
Alex had been doing that all night. And if he did it once more, George was gonna freaking kill him.
George shook Alex’s shoulder. “Wake up.”
Alex turned onto his back, forcing his eyes open. His eyebrows furrowed. “What the fuck? Why am I in a tent?”
George frowned. “Alex?”
Alex’s eyes finally fell on George and he groaned. “I could not have drunk this much booze at the mixer.”
The mixer? That was ages ago. What’s he…oh, crap. “Um, Alex, what’s my name?”
“…Mark?”
George blinked. “Yeah, I’m getting Shepherd.”
Alex grabbed George's arm, pulling the intern back onto the ground. "Don't even think about it, O'Malley."
"...Huh?"
"You don't need to get him."
"Alex, you just had a memory gap. You have a concussion. I'm getting Shepherd."
"Will you shut up? I'm fine."
"Alex-"
Alex glared at George. "You talk too much," he said, grabbing the back of George's neck and smashing their lips together in an angry kiss.
George pushed Alex away, a look of pure confusion on his face. "Why did you do that?"
"It shut you up, didn't it?" Alex shrugged. That was it. There was no other reason for him to have kissed Bambi.
"You kissed me."
"No, really? Do you need an instant replay?"
"Um..." George turned his eyes to anywhere but Alex.
"Seriously?" Alex rolled his eyes. "Whatever." With one swift movement, Alex grabbed George again, bringing their lips together.
This kiss wasn't like the other. The anger was replaced by something neither could identify and as George let his mouth fall open, Alex pulled George closer. Their bodies molded together, hands finding hair while teeth clinked together in the frenzied rush.
Neither knew what was happening while they kissed, tongues battling for dominance. The first kiss had been nothing like this. It had been angry and harsh. This one was...
God. They didn't even know.
George's fingers swept through Alex's short locks and down his face, making Alex hiss when his hand hit the cut. His hands drifted down until they found a comfortable place on Alex's waist and the two lowered onto the sleeping bags.
Their hips grinded together as Alex let the smaller intern climb atop and straddle him. Lungs began to burn with lack of air, making their kiss all the more rushed.
Alex continued to respond, ignoring the throbbing of his head and ground against George again.
A groan escaped George's mouth at the feeling. He pulled away an instant later when he felt Alex's grip on him weaken. "Alex?" he asked cautiously as he tried to catch his breath.
Alex's eyes slipped open, a glazed and pained look in mixed into the brown. He shook his head, groaning the second his head moved. "Ugh."
George's brow furrowed. "Your head."
"I'm fine," he muttered.
"Keep telling yourself that," George said with a roll of his eyes as he moved off of Alex. "Get some rest."
Alex let out a barely audible 'okay' as he let his body sink into the soft sleeping bag. His eyes drifted shut, his breathing evening out quickly.
George lay beside him, just watching the intern for a minute before he rolled onto his back and fell asleep himself.
It wasn't until he was too far asleep to care that he remembered he hadn't quizzed Alex.
Whatever. He'll just give him a harder one next time.
