Re-reading The Lord of the Rings: Prologue

In which Tolkien gives away the ending, snippets of history emerge, and I get most of my complaining out of the way early.

I agree that the prologue is probably not in the right place. Having read The Hobbit before LotR, I enjoyed the recap bits, and I fortunately ignored the spoilers at the end, probably because the story has so many different character names.
