(Barely! but still right in there at 1966) I can't agree with her more. Despite the cynicism of my own earlier post, I WANT to believe, I WANT to see the next generation of kids roll their eyes at the fact that I cried at Obama's acceptance speech.
To Paraphrase a babyboomer/gen Xer at heart, Stephen King (from the closing lines of Shawshank redemption)...
I hope president Obama will really inspire the people to become one of action, not just words.
I hope we will rebuild our national reputation to be that of a place to BE, not to scoff or fear.
I hope that in 20 years, when today's toddlers are well informed voters, possibly starting families of their own will look back in amazement (and incredulous) at the idea that race was actually a factor in life...
