This is a fantastic outsider POV of Sam. I'm not really sure I catch whatever it was that had happened in his life (I'm assuming there was a S/D backstory some where) but his weariness, guilt and sorrow is pretty resonant here. You got Priestly down very well here and the chemistry between the two of them work very well.
