wiki on FFIV |
FF wiki on Rosa Personality: Rosa is a woman with a big heart. Most important to her are her friends and family, and she would do anything to protect them. In a sense, she kind of acts like the "team mom" (or "team older sister") for the group, willing to walk them through their problems (Rydia and her fear of fire comes to mind) and support them in their times of need (Cecil during the first half of FFIV). She is selfless to a fault; she has often risked her life to help or save others without even a second thought.
She's a calm, quiet woman who tends to keep her emotions to herself...to the best of her ability, of course. Her maturity belies her age; she is only 19, yet she has a realistic view of the world and is quick to catch on to the trouble brewing in Baron.
In spite of all that, Rosa can be quite stubborn when she wants to be. Later on in the game, she insists on accompanying the party to the moon, even sneaking on the ship when she doesn't get her way. She also passionately argues against her mother's pleas for her to remain safely at home, insisting that her place is as Cecil's side, much as her mother fought alongside her father. She sticks to her guns, and she's not afraid to take an unpopular stance. If she truly believes something to be right, she will argue for it.
Of course, the most important person in Rosa's life is Cecil. He was her childhood friend, and she has since fallen in love with him; as such, there is little she wouldn't do for him (aside from hurting others). His happiness she wants above all else, and she is completely willing to sacrifice everything to ensure it. When he's away from her, she worries for him; all she wants is to fight by his side and keep him safe. Even if he doesn't want her in a romantic way.
Cecil is her everything, and she's unafraid to admit it.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
strengths;
♦ Rosa is, by nature, a calm and supportive woman. She will stand by your side in the face of even the most terrifying of obstacles, having faith that you will see her through and offering aid in whatever way she can.
♦ Believe it or not, Rosa can take care of herself, for the most part; she's a competent archer as well as a talented white mage, and so she can hold her own in a battle. Not necessarily relevant here, but it's worth noting.
♦ She is patient with those she cares about, especially Cecil.
♦ Rosa's pretty open with her feelings. She tells Cecil outright that she loves him, although she
♦ Rosa is also understanding. She cares for people and so does her best
♦ She's noted to be the most beautiful woman in Baron, so that's a plus. But most people find her beauty to stem more from her good heart than her attractive features.
weaknesses;
✖ When it comes to her own health, it's incredibly low on her list of priorities. She will damn near kill herself, without a second thought, if it will help someone she cares about. She takes
✖ As mentioned in her personality, she can be very stubborn. For better or for worse.
✖ ...To put it bluntly? She's dressed like a hooker/concubine, albeit more extravagantly. Seriously, is it any wonder that all the boys are brought to the yard?
✖ While she can certainly take care of herself, Rosa doesn't have the same kind of physical strength as some of the others; take away her bow and magic, and she's at a serious disadvantage in a fight.
✖ She is completely oblivious to any sort of romantic feelings toward her unless they come from Cecil. Seriously. Sorry, Kain. ;;
✖ On that note: Cecil can definitely be considered a weakness for her. If someone were to threaten him in any way, she'd be at their mercy.

First Person Sample: [ The video clicks on to a close-up of Rosa. She's still shaky on the whole usage of new freaky electronics, and so she's zoomed in a little too much. Oh well. ]
Hello again. Is everyone well? [ Warm smile. ] Cece and I have finally made it to Cherrygrove.
[ Rosa shifts slightly, causing the 'Gear to focus on her chest the Togepi cradled in her arms for a moment. Cece responds with a happy 'Priii!' of welcome. ]
Cecil, are you doing alright? I'm afraid that this world is very different from Baron.... [ and now she's gotten worried. Slight frown. ]
I can't help but worry about my mother back home...she must be very concerned. Are we sure this magical device can't contact home? I really would like to give her a message saying I'm fine... [ and now she trails off, looking down at Cece.
but wait. ] Ah...I'm sorry. [ Smiling again, like nothing's wrong. ] I hope everyone has a good day, today.

Third Person Sample: She was trying not to let the worry overwhelm her.
Clearly, this was not Baron, or even wherever Golbez and Kain had been keeping her. To be honest, she wasn’t sure where she was at all; nothing here looked familiar, and she had seen a fair amount of the world so far. And that was a problem.
Rosa had no doubt that Cecil would be coming to rescue her. They were close friends and more, on her part; she knew he’d never let Golbez get away with what he’d done. And once she was saved, they could go home and let her mother know that she was alright.
She had to get back. Cecil would be worried if he arrived to the tower to find that she wasn’t there, and Golbez would probably be furious on top of that. The last thing she wanted was for him to get hurt on her behalf. Plus, she felt terrible, making her mother and friends worry because she was missing. At least back home, even though she was kidnapped and placed in a death trap, she knew it would only be a matter of time before she saw everyone again.
Sighing, she pressed her clasped hands to her lips in a quick prayer before looking over at the creature in the shell. She…wasn’t sure what it was there for; the “mom” lady had called it a Pokeyman or something, but it certainly wasn’t any creature from Baron or the surrounding lands. Whatever it was, though, it was only a child. A baby.
“Are you all right? Where is your mother?” Rosa…wasn’t sure that it would be able to respond (and the 'Pii pii Togepriii' she got answered that question), but she was concerned. A baby like this couldn’t be expected to survive on its own. Its mother would be worried, too….
Her mind was made up. Gently, she scooped the Togepi up into her arms, whispering soothing words. She would take care of it in the meantime, until they could both find their ways home.
