If I told all the elfies to come to a party in Mandos, they'd all think they died. Then they'd wander around for a while looking for their bodies while they were still in them, thinking everybody else must be dead too since they could see and hear them. Then they'd all do the wailing and gnashing thing until they realized they were hungry and they might as well gnash their teeth on some food BUT WAIT dead people don't get hungry HOORAY WE'RE NOT DEAD! and by then the time of the party would have already come and gone.
