Here I am, having read your New Year's meme and said, "Hm, 'Scratch'? Which one was that?".... I don't remember reading these before, and I very much love them!! They're just gorgeous, especially the first--definitely your style (poetic language, well-grounded characters, and tons of impact in the space of a single sentence) at its best. I have to echo the sentiments expressed by commenters in the previous threads--in your hands, this concept could become a truly awesome story. ^^
