So why review books? And why do we think we have the right to tear apart someone else's work on the internet, where anyone can read it?
Hi, I'm Anna, and I've been an avid reader since before I entered kindergarten. (Kind of makes me sound like an alcoholic, doesn't it? I swear, I never touch the stuff!) I love to read, and I love to rant about the book I've just read. Even better if I can actually, say, discuss the book with someone who's also read it. While some discussion topics are pretty universal among readers, regardless of what sort of books they like to read, sometimes you just want to dish about things more specifically geared to a particular genre or even a certain book. Sadly, I haven't found too many literary groups that deal with genre books, which makes me frowny. I like all the genres; I don't want to limit myself to talking about only fantasy or only romance, and I certainly don't want to pretend that reading only "real" literature makes me somehow smarter than the poor people who cling to their genres.
I promise to be silly, ranty, opinionated, and to occasionally burst out in high-pitched squeals of fangirl glee. Also, I promise to run off on random tangents and wind up talking about something completely unrelated to anything even remotely literary. Really, what more could you want out of a book review blog?
At present, I'm hoping to review at least one book per week. I'll try to rotate the genres around, but I can't guarantee an even spread among them. Some of it will depend on what books are available to me at any given time. Hey, if you'd like me to review a particular genre, you can send the book to me, m'kay?
