Asexual Representation

In my travels around the interwebs, I came across a fantastic blog, Charlie the Unicorn, Ace Detective. You're probably looking at that title and wondering "uhh, what?" What about the BBC's Sherlock? I've heard that's been a character that a lot of asexual people have been seeing themselves in, although I don't think he's officially asexual on the show.

Sherlock as asexual is pretty much canon in the source text but you'd never know it from fanfic/fandom.

Nowadays, you introduce an asexual character, or any character not sexually active, and people start making insinuitions about what he must be doing secretly.
