That sounds great - I hope that takes off - DRM is too easy to strip to be useful against piracy, all it does is make it a hassle for customers to locate the version appropriate for their device, and lock them into shopping at particular venues once they've decided which device they want.

DRM stands for Digital Restrictions Management. As the name would imply, it basically exists to restrict the way you read your e-books. It's supposed to prevent piracy, but pirates have no issues stripping e-books of the DRM. What it really does it make e-books more difficult to access for the average reader.

All this ebook restriction business is a big part of why I've been unwilling to dip my toes in the ebook market. Regardless of the fact that I would kind of like a reader because... gadget.

If this works out, I can definitely see myself becoming interested in them as a media.

How awesome that someone with certainty of success no matter what and enough money in her back to be able to do anything she wanted anyway took enough of an interest in her readers to make these demands for them.
