Character Meme - Ripp
Yeah, I still have a few of these to do. :( I am getting to them as I can.
kittykat2010 tagged me ages ago with Ripp and I think I am finally at the point where I can talk about him without it spoilering anything major ... I hope.
Bit of a warning before you read further, it really wouldn't take much thinking to turn some of these into huge spoilers, so I advise taking them as they are and don't think about them. Also in regards to the quote, Ripp unleashed (that sounds like a really bad porn title doesn't it?) has a tendency to bring out the raunchy in people. Which is also something to keep in mind as Pleasantries progresses ... *whistles innocently*
“This really doesn’t bother you?”
“Should it?”
“I was kind of expecting it to. Your sexuality has never been in question has it?”
“Yeah, not so much. I like cock and tight asses.”
These are the most important people and things in his world. I can practically feel the raised eyebrows and hear the "Oh really?!" already. Soon! I swear! Really the only other thing I can say about this picture is "That fucking Ducati!"
So am I the only one that is suddenly really, incredibly depressed for him?
I really wanted to hold off on this one a while longer so I could bring on the adorable picspam with it. I needed to get my head back into Pleasantries though, and this was an awesome way to do it! Of course that means that at some point in the future you get adorable picspam posts.
I was also tagged with Darren way back when this was first going around. I am having a hell of a time with Darren. Everything I put down is some sort of huge spoiler *sigh* so his may still be a ways off. You guys don't mind these just randomly popping up right?

- Ripp has an alien fetish meaning he has always been much more strongly attracted to aliens than humans. In his words “It’s a whole pointy ears and amazing eyes thing, hard to explain.” He is far from alone in this.
- His biggest weakness is his self imposed guilt. Even the slightest hint that something may have been caused by something he did will have him convinced, without doubt, it was entirely his fault. Buzz exploits this frequently.
- Very closely related to his overactive sense of guilt is a fierce protective streak. I am not going to say much about this right now. Just know it is there!
- He has an aversion to labels. This is possibly the only good thing that has come out of his otherwise completely dysfunctional relationship with his father. Buzz is always very quick to apply labels and use them as insults. Everything from “gay” and “alien” right trough to “whore” and “pathetic”. To Ripp’s way of thinking they are all just words like any other and have very little bearing outside of the context they are used in. To define someone by them is to box them up into his father’s very narrow minded view of the world. People are merely people, to be accepted for who they are, as they are.
Of course he does not extend that same courtesy to himself … - Lilith is his best friend in the sense that she is the one person he is most comfortable talking to when something is bothering him. She knows him the best, can usually tell what he is thinking and he knows she will always be there for him when he needs her. He can and does tell her almost everything. Almost.
- Damon is his best friend in the sense of being the one person he can count on to be there when he just needs someone to hang out with mindlessly who won’t ask him questions, fuss over him and worry endlessly about how he’s holding up. He and Damon are just as close as he and Lilith, but in a totally different way.
- He believes every word of the insults Buzz throws at him. He is firmly convinced he is "worthless", "useless", "lazy" and "pathetic" and he even knows exactly why. If he wasn't so scared of what Buzz would do if he told anyone, he would even tell you what he did to deserve them. Does he deserve them? I will leave you to be the judge of that when the time comes.
- Buzz does hate him. It is not a case of mere disappointment that one of his sons is different or an embarrassment. Buzz hates him like he has never hated anyone or anything before. He has his reasons, not that they are any excuse, and yes, you will find out what they are. Eventually.
- Lilith is the only person who knows Ripp is gay. Others might suspect, but Lilith is the only one who knows. Of course this also means that Ripp's experience in all things romantic equals none ... It has simply been far too dangerous to even risk a first kiss.
- I don't think it is any secret at this point that he would do just about anything to have a chance with Tel, that is also his biggest fear. If he thought for even one second there was a chance Tel thought of him as anything more than a friend he would spend every ounce of energy he had proving he was worth it. At the same time he would be dreading the day Tel found out he never would be, knowing it was only a matter of time until Tel found out the truth and he lost him entirely.
