Thank you so much! I realised too late how tight I'd made the timetable, so I'm incredibly glad you managed to work with it. Larry with hidden depths and shallows pleases me no end. Art, and also Star Trek, they make lives so much better, so why not know that Larry enjoys them?

It was a good stretch for me, because I'm not as familiar with the early season canon as I am with the later season stuff, so Larry was a completely new character for me to explore. I'm really glad you liked it, because I was so uncertain it was what you were looking for.

Hee! I like the idea that people are "in the closet" about all sorts of things, like Star Trek and Renoir. But Larry has been out about being gay for a long time already at this point, and it's implied that his happiness about that really cut down on his bullying. Even so, I'm wondering how college would have opened him up even more. He was on the road to being a great guy...a leader with heart.

I'm glad you liked it, and I admit I didn't get a chance to watch any episodes to get a timetable for Larry's outing. I was under the impression that he was out to Xander (and the audience), but that was it. And I was playing with the idea that we're "in the closet" about a bunch of things, so I'm glad you caught that!

I was going over Earshot, and noticed that there is a ton of stuff in there about the jocks, and how they aren't as impenetrable as the Scoobies previously thought. Willow is shown to have an on-going, supportive relationship with needy Percy, Xander is excited to be greeted by name by the big athletic star of the moment, Hogan. But when the Scoobs start interviewing people in an attempt to ferret out the threat (see icon) it's wonderfully blatant. Here's Oz with Hogan:

OZ: Do you ever feel that you've created a false persona for yourself of the guy who does everything right, and how much of a strain does that put on you to maintain it?

HOGAN: Huh. Wow. I guess... moderate strain? Is that a good answer? I want to get this right.

Isn't that cute? So, so pertinent to your fic, I think.

Here's the Larry part of the same ep:

LARRY: What? Talk louder, dude ( ... )

Shoot! Wish I had seen that episode! But at least I was right that Larry was close with his grandmother!
