A date with Mindy

Rico hadn't usually been one to take orders, but if Mindy wanted messy hair and a spectacular date, well, she was at least working on the right side of the heroing game and he wasn't dating another chick that was going to try and kill him.

At least he hoped.

The car had been snagged from his uncle, a BMW Z4, showed up dressed casually and with Read more... )

It was really rare for Mindy to even consider a date. She was usually closed off and kept to herself but here she was. Normally she would have settled for jeans and a tshirt but she figured if she was going to give the boy a good time, the least that she could do was look nice.

So outside, she was standing in a white dress with her hair very messily thrown up into what could only be described as a bun. Her brow rose at the sight of the car. Niiiiceee. Even he looked good - the touseled hair? Brownie points Rico. Good job.

"Hey." She gave a small wave and then cleared her throat. "Nice car."

Rico spent his life surrounded by beautiful women. It was like it came with the mutations, even the ones that were blue, green or otherwise. Yet he came to a stop when he saw Mindy, drawing a slow, deep breath as he looked her over. Slowly. Here was a girl that could probably snap him in two - if he wouldn't just bend like a willow tree - and looking like an angel.

"You look stunning," he said, stepping closer and offering her his hand. "Seriously, gorgeous."

Then he realized she'd said something, blinking. "Oh right. The car. I kind of borrowed it from my uncle."

"You alright there Rico? You look like a cat went and stole your tongue," Sshe knew he was looking her over, probably not really expecting her to be dressed like this - hell she hadn't been expecting to dress like this - it just..happened.

Taking his hand, she gave a lopsided smirk. "Uncle Johnny?" She tilted her head. It was just odd to have a guy look her over like that but she didn't so much mind from him. He should consider himself really lucky.

"Nice scarf," Mindy played around it before looking back up at him. "So, where are you taking me?"

"Something like that. About cats and tongues and all,' he said, frowning as he realized how little sense his words made. "God, you'd think I hadn't seen a pretty girl before," he said, leading the way to the car.

"Yeah, his. I have a car but not nearly as nice as this and you deserved the best for tonight." And he definitely wanted to impress her.

"I was told it completed the look," he admitted with a grin. "And to a place I'm not good enough to get reservations for. Thankful when Emma Frost calls, you get the chef's table,' he said, blushing a bit but figuring honesty worked in this case.
