Who: Matt, open When: A couple of weeks after his arrival, early morning Where: Record Shop What: Matt has arrived to open shop and discovered some unpleasant things Rating/Warnings: Possibly foul language
The Quattro came speeding along the road, brakes screeching, wheels spinning. It came to a skidded halt outside of the record shop. A dead body before breakfast? Lovely! Gene got out of the car and headed into the store, flashing his badge. "DCI Gene Hunt."
He pocketed his badge and retrieved his cigarettes, lighting one up, taking a drag. He stepped over the body and moved over to Matt. "You the one who made the call?"
Already the team were arriving to take photos and let forensics do their thing.
As people started pouring into the shop, Matt perked up slightly. "Only one here, right? Except for my new friend, of course," he replied, nodding towards the dead body being photographed. He exhaled smoke, running his hand through his vivid hair to pull it from his eyes.
Offering his gloved hand for a shake, he rose a brow. "Matt." Though he had a feeling he'd have to give his real name, even despite his severe dislike for it.
Gene gave Matt's hand a shake. "Aye. So you were the one who discovered the body... moved it at all? Moved anything around it?" He took another drag of his cigarette, glancing over at the body and the team busying around it.
He moved over to the body, nuding it with his foot once they had finished faffing about with photos and blood patterns and all the gay boy science Gene so hated. "Cause of death... that'd be the bullets, then?"
"Not at thing. I unlocked the door," Not that it needed unlocking, when the window was smashed in. "Walked over, checked the pulse, sat down and called you guys. And lit a smoke." He shrugged lightly, looking over at the body as Gene approached it.
He assumed that there would be questions about who would break in, who the man was, who would kill someone in the shop and Matt wondered if he could at least get a ride in a cop car with the sirens out of all this hell.
"It's awesome," he replied dryly, his thick American accent slipping in, standing up and stubbing out his cigarette. "So, what now, Officer?"
