The MushMaster appears again, if only for a moment.
I know what you mean about how smells can bring things back. On occasion, I catch a scent a lot like there was in the apartment where my first serious girlfriend lived (remember S?). Even today it'll still bring up a flood of those memories and feelings. The only thing that's changed from when that first happened is that there's none of the hurt or hard feelings left. That's something I'm very grateful for, being able to look back on those things without that intruding upon it. I'm glad the same's come for you.
Some other time I can go into some of the neurology of why (I think) scent tends to have such a profound effect on us like that, as opposed to the other senses.
I hope the weather improves out there for you. Cold 'n' windy is about what's expected here for some time yet. *sigh*
Oh the MushMaster is very much alive and well...just buried under decades of cynicism. Holding a job, being the sole wage earner in the family, and being a dad doesn't leave me with a lot of time for sentimentality
( ... )
P??? Hurm..... The only one I knew she lived close to was Q. Heh...."Quinlet." Heh.
Oooohhhhh......P!! OK. Got it.
Innocence and helplessness. Not something we've had a whole helluva lot of dealing with in the last decade or two. Makes sense that that'd be something that'd hit deep.
Scent does have the least processing. It's not the biggest pathway into the brain, just the most direct and the most undiluted for sensory data.
