What kinda wood do you think you'd use for a scratching post? Probably something really heavy, right? (I'm ashamed to admit that I've found myself using my desk every once and awhile...poor desk.)
We should probably think about this sorta thing, cuz it won't be *that* long before they're crawling. And at that point they'll probably want to claw everything if they can't feed the need somewhere safe.
Its hard to explain to someone who's never experienced it before, but its almost like a terrible itch. The only way to make it better is to claw at something til it goes away.

I know it's a lot in the mind, cause even those cats who they take the claws out of seem to like to go through the motions. But I've also noticed that it does help get rid of the dead casings around the nails. It's probably like a mancure in a sense. Get rid of the dead so the new can come out. Look around your desk where you scratch and you'll find those nail casings. I've noticed it.
I'm thinking maybe of building an indoor cat room for the little ones. Lots of fence posts and untreated wood. Carpet on parts of it, thick cardboard, all types of different surfaces. Some place where they can climb and run around that's not outside. Think of the hours of fun it will provide on a rainy day, right?

Okay, when I'm done with Tanomi's stuff and Videl's kitchen, I'll get started on the playroom. I have a lot of ideas for that place.
