Stardust.

I did something recently that I thoroughly enjoyed and that I'd not prior had the pleasure of experiencing. I read a book. Not just any book and I'm not sure why I selected this particular novel, but it stuck out from the Barnes & Noble shelf as if calling to me. It was entitled "Stardust." I read it in less than 3 days while out at sea (which ( Read more... )

One of my personal favorite books. I read it in one day (which is completely unheard of, unfortunately) and promptly adopted the name tristran online. Sure, i adapted it to plusran (from being called trist +ran) but the point is it is still one of my favorites. Can't wait to see the film... wait, they changed the ending? =( oh noes!

FYI: another Gaiman classic, Coraline, will be coming out on film soon, also.
I wonder if they'll ever do Neverwhere...

The BBC did Neverwhere as a low-budget (think Doctor Who) series a few years ago. It's well-worth watching, though. ^-^

Wasn't Neverwhere a series before becoming a book? Says one who hasn't either of them.

I can't wait to see the film. It seems to have had a positive effect upon you, because those photos give off a radiant aura indeed. Look at all those smiles. :)

is it possible to love 2 different endings of the same story?

I'm a projectionist and i screened the film and really liked it.I'm intrigued by your three days in a submersible,no cell phones ect.and being able to read the book with no distractions!I look foward to reading the book and seeing how it differs from the film.

I couldn't enjoy the movie since it seems somewhat scattered in plot development, but the book is amazing. I couldn't set it down and then, when I had to, I couldn't wait to pick it back up again. I almost preferred reading it to taking advantage of the very brief sleeping and meal times while at sea.
