The Ambassadors

Jan 31, 2006 01:44

I have decided to write ten poems about Ambassadors. The first one was in my last journal entry and is called Robert W. Fitts. He's the ambassador to Papua New Guinea! These next two are about the ambassadors to Great Britain and Panama, respectively.

They have difficult jobs to do. )

Panama was worth the frustrations. Lovely. It evokes thoughts of Edgar Allen Poe, the Cure, and even a little J. Alfred Prufrock.

Natalia says she can't believe you wrote a villanelle, and that that is the kind of poetry that makes writers' heads explode.

My thoughts = Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

The end.

Correction: she actually said it makes writers' heads implode, not explode.

I have a theory that imploding is actually the act of being sucked in to your belly button vortex. I think that if you look really closely around an imploding-related crime scene, you will find at least one belly button lying on the ground. Unless the cat ate it.

Cats are cool.

I have to concur with yenniemonster. Definitely a little J. Alfred Prufrock (one of my all time favorite poems).

Keep going. i await the next six! They're so great and amazing to read and a little educational all in one.
