Ooh, I love chickpeas and this recipe looks delicious. I'm a fan of experimental cooking.

I tend to either follow recipes once and then change them or do what do I have in the pantry meals, which are fun.

I'm not a huge chickpea fan, but I like them when they've got flavors simmered into them like this. It's just that so often they're not slowcooked enough for my tastes. But this recipe turned out really well, I thought!

When I do recipes, I... honestly, even then, I'll often do minor substitutions or change the spices around some, or at least freehand the measurements. But the first time I'm trying something significantly different, I do usually follow it more closely, yeah.

*nods* One of my favorite chickpea dishes is a cold chickpea salad but I keep wanting to try roasted chickpeas with crunch and other great flavors.

I love feeling comfortable enough with a recipe to experiment though sometimes I'll do that when I don't have all the ingredients.

If you made that soup from the recipe I'm thinking, I'm really amused. Aside from 'soup with tomatoes', there's not really much similarity. Oh, I guess that one had spinach in it too. :)
