Today I am distractable perchance

I never understood that saying about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb until I moved to New England. Nowadays, I just laugh at it, because seriously: comes in and goes out, nothing. In the Northeast the weather muddles lion and lamb as thoroughly as Aslan at his most allegorical ( Read more... )

Aside from the three years I spent in Arizona, I cannot remember a March that wasn't the exact opposite of the saying -- in like a lamb, out like a lion.

Heh. Yeah, that's also valid! Mostly I think of it swinging wildly between the two, though.

Michigan's the same way, last night there was ice, but today there's sun and chilly. I love lunch breaks at the proper time.

That's the best part of my later days of the week, I actually eat at noon. The other days I have classes at 1 pm or 5 pm so I eat at weird times.

Go find good tea! I have supplies if you need some.

I have acquired it! :D I mean, not good tea -- I have plenty of that, but I don't waste it on the not-quite-boiling water at work -- but English Breakfast that's several steps above Lipton and actually tastes like tea.

Lunch breaks are marvelous. They really do help space out the day, I find.

I have good tea at home and there are cafes around campus so I spend far too much money on tea other people make me. I have a travel mug that I forget to carry.

So, that means you still have a full hour's lunch tomorrow...
Any interest in trekking into the square and getting lunch? If so, drop me an email!

Oh, boo, I wish I'd thought of that earlier! I'm already committed to lunch plans with another friend tomorrow, alas. Come summer we totally should do that, though.

Also, I heartily approve of the icon!

No worries; we'll keep it in mind for summertime. Enjoy!
(And yes, that icon is a lot of fun.)

You have much sympathy from me for being forced to drink Lipton.

Much appreciated! I did consider skipping it, but the prospect of caffeine deprivation on a sleepy morning was just daunting enough.

However, now I have decent English Breakfast again, so all is well with the world.

ACK, tea emergency! No human should be forced to resort to Lipton; I think that might violate the Geneva Convention regarding the rights of P.O.W.

Prisoners of Workplaces?

In any case, I only suffered it for one cup! That lasted me till lunch break and some decent oolong, and now I have halfway credible English Breakfast teabags to once again maintain a proper standard of living.
