Reason to Hate Vista

So, I have XP installed on a SATA II drive... Works just fine. Well, other than the typical windows stuff. For school, I installed Vista onto an IDE drive. Rebooted a couple times just fine, then I installed the windows updates. Now, BIOS recognized the IDE drive, but XP does not, and it will not boot to Vista. Can't even reinstall Vista, because
