This foreshadows so much it is almost spooky. Very nice look at young William.

I wanted very much to use the phrase 'one good day' but it didn't work.

I'm also very wedded to the belief that William's father was a caring man. I always picture him as a merchant who lost his life at sea. The prompt allowed me to indulge this fantasy.

Thank you. I enjoy backstories very much too. I'm of the belief that writers should take as much care in their construction as we do with canon events and characters.

Thank you. We saw Liam's father but were never introduced to William's. My belief is that his father must have been a caring man for William to have turned out as he did.
